Captured emotions on canvas

It amazes me how an artist is able to capture such raw and powerful emotions on canvas. I am also amazed by the dynamic range of colors and saturation from pigments. It'll be awhile before digital media can match a "simple" canvas at home.

Changing to a "whenever" post.

Very nicely captured. I like the way that the DoF is kind of unexpected. Like the child should be in focus and isn't. I like that.

A fine shot in an art gallery. I was struck by the brilliance of oils when I saw a Monet collection in person. Our photo representations of real life are just that - a representation and far from presenting a replica of the real thing.
